I’m hoping someone can make a browser extension for duckduckgo.com to actually save customized ddg settings to the extension.
Sorry for sounding like a broken record (permanently looped .mp4 for you younger people), but the fact that DDG ‘saves’ settings to a cookie instead of in a .dat or .db file just exasperates me. It’s like the developers didn’t take people who clear cache/cookies on exit into consideration after offering that option in settings.
I am one of those who despises the AI infection rapidly growing in all tech, especially internet searches. I’d like to be able to permanently disable all AI-related things on DDG without having to allow DDG to arbitrarily persistently store cookies on my hard drive. Seems like that’s counter-productive to the whole ‘do not track’ movement.
Off my soapbox. ![]()
