Brave blocked my download of a torrent

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

1 Open private browser window in Brave
2 Go to https://yts.mx/movies/beyond-utopia-2023
3 Click download link button
4 Select movie quality ( I chose to download 720p)
5 Click the download button
6 Web page opens with the following : " This page has been blocked by Brave

ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT"

I have a screen shot but do not see how to attach to this message.

Expected result:. See above

Brave Version( check About Brave):.
Version 1.60.125 Chromium: 119.0.6045.199 (Official Build) (x86_64)

I think you need to update Brave to latest.

Just went through the exact steps you listed.
Seems to work OK for me.

Hi Meeker-Morgan,

I updated to the latest version.

It seems I was able to download . . . something, but it wasn’t a large file. It was only 22 kb for 720 p.

I tried another file-- 1080 p. Same small 22 kb size. The file sizes are 1 GB and 2 GB.

Then, the third try, the same error appeared as last time: “” This page has been blocked by Brave ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT"

I would like to attach screen shots. Is that possible?

Also, the 22 kb files that downloaded, when I try to open the file, I get a message, " There is no application set to open the document “Beyond Utopia (2023) [720p] [WEBRip] [YTS.MX].torrent”.

What app do I need to open Torrent files? Can you recommend?

Any idea what is happening with my difficulty downloading/ opening this file?

You downloaded the torrent spec. A torrent downloader (not necessarily a browser) uses it to start the torrent.

Click the “magnet” link to get what you want.
