Add a Dark Mode to Brave Community

Implementing a dark mode on the Brave Community website would significantly enhance the user experience. Many users browse the forum late at night, and a bright white background can cause eye strain and discomfort. A dark mode would reduce blue light exposure, improving readability and making it easier to focus on discussions without the glare. This feature is also energy-efficient on OLED/AMOLED screens, extending battery life for mobile users. By adding dark mode, the Brave Community would align with modern web design standards and the Brave browser’s own UI, creating a more cohesive and comfortable environment for all users. It’s a simple change that demonstrates a commitment to user well-being and accessibility.

@zeusshomaly perhaps you don’t like the dark theme, but they do have one. Just change it in your preferences.

It even can honor your OS settings if you have it on Auto. Otherwise it’s what you choose.

Not at all. Remember that since you can’t hear tone i writing, that how we perceive things is based on ourselves. I do not know why you would choose to read it in a rude manner.

What that indicated is that you may not like the options there. There are better color combinations and layouts that websites use for dark mode. Hence why I was saying that perhaps your suggestion was for a different type of layout and you do not like what they have.

But then I did show you that it does at least have something, just in case you did not know. It was trying to address your concern from two different angles

Regarding this, I believe the apology would be more appropriate coming from you for calling me rude and responding aggressively. You also violated one of the forum rules.

If you look only at my actual words, I simply suggested you might not like the dark theme. There is nothing inherently rude or insulting about that.

I also followed it with information to help you locate those settings, in case you were not aware.

For the future, I recommend avoiding assumptions about a person’s intent and focusing on exactly what is written. If you are ever unsure whether something is meant negatively, it is better to assume no harm was intended. Doing so will help prevent unnecessary misunderstandings and drama.

You’re right mate. I apologise. I didn’t think straight back then. Apologies if the apology was late, but I understand.
