Subject: Ad-blocking Bypass / Severe Redirect Loop on StreamGoblin (Mobile)
Description of the issue:
The streaming website StreamGoblin recently updated its video player scripts. When using Brave on mobile, clicking the video player or interacting with the screen causes aggressive ad redirects and pop-ups to bypass Brave Shields completely.
Exact URL: https://streamgoblin.org (and its associated video player frames/mirrors)
Troubleshooting steps already attempted:
- Trackers and ads blocking set to “Aggressive” (Still redirects).
- Fingerprinting protection enabled (Still redirects).
- Forced background component updates via brave://components (Still redirects).
- Blocked JavaScript (Stops the redirects, but completely breaks the video server streams).
- ONLY WORKAROUND: Changing settings to “Block all cookies” stops the redirects, but breaks the server media players. Changing to “Block cross-site cookies” allows the malicious scripts to drop tracking tokens into first-party storage and bypass Shields.
Expected Result:
Brave Shields should intercept the hidden first-party redirect commands inside the media player wrapper without requiring the user to block all functional first-party cookies. Please update the Brave Ad Block Updater filter lists to patch this scriptlet bypass.
