This doesn’t appear to be fixed. I’m not using any ad blockers or other YT extensions. I’m running the current version of Brave. Still get the “content isn’t available” error. If I refresh the page, the video plays, so this is really intended to frustrate Brave users into using other browsers. Tried using Edge and videos play fine.
Along with some of those would be like testing different Shields settings, changing which content filters you’re using, making sure using a different browser profile doesn’t work differently, perhaps testing on Beta or Nightly versions of Brave to see if it works better, etc.
No sir*, youtube must off heard us wrenching on stuff in there, and pushed another update. .. But, im running the experimental brave adblock ruleset so…. I’ll have pomder that later BUT; news:
i suspect putting some variables into the URL / yout00b API request URL will make Yout00b act like the cool kids do and just serve you the vjdeo content youre after, as I see requesting videos with their “at certain time” function works, seemingly, every time! No pun intended, lol. Mind you Im experiencing yout00bs suttle aggression notices in Desktop mode on my Android client and running in that mode seems to piss off a lot of servers, even making them think your DNS probing there site or something… So im not.sweating it.
Same with me for more than 2 weeks, it only happens on my main account, logout or another account doesn’t happen. If I disable the brave ad block it also doesn’t happen, but the ads are back
welcome,
This is is good input om the issue because it clarifies that youtube is discriminating because its unhappy about your login or something having t9 do with the way it processes your user agent..
Thanks for keeping this alive. My “fix” is null and void for anybody reading this, i can only say that my goto method of always requesting the desktop version from mobile returns youtube’s "we’re fresh out of bullsh*t to tell you, its just like, not here.
When you say “braves adblock” are you tslking ahout the standard adblock rules only? Giggles just wont rest until were watching ads from the inside our eyelids.. Oh… enjoy the Ålchemist: https://inv.nadeko.net/search?q=pWmh9rGFrGg
It changes content because brave chops of parts of the URL’s that youtube* uses in it’s data API. It can be a little frustrating but it beats having all if their tracking doing exactly what it is designed to do, persistantly track. Brave has a well defined name for this, but ai dont member, its in the help documentation in the privacy ninja’in section. (as we say in the south)
Uodating your filter lists, using the button at the top of the filter list page is the best solution so far.
And:
*important!
This page, as mentioned on this thread, has everything to do with identifying you, and these things are intended for the wider audience. But you’re not the wider audience, they use chrome, and they log into their browser with their gmail like absolute maniacs.
Try nuking your site cookies if you need to, and try to log in on youtube specificallyz meaning, dont rely on being logged into google already.
