Website not working on brave due to "ssl" error

So using this website to watch Pokemon on and it’s now not working saying it’s not a secure connection, can load it up on any other browser but ad blockers don’t work on other browsers, is there a way to bypass this since it worked perfectly fine before with no issues

Alternative:

Subtitles not showing on certain webs like 9anime.to and else - #6 by Saoiray

Not the issue I’m afraid

@dashieswings

So using https://hianime.to/ is not an alternative venue for watching Pokemon?

@fanboynz @shivan if either of you get a chance, could you test 9animetv.to and hianime.to for iOS? I don’t have the exact issue as OP mentioned but site tends to freeze up or videos stay with black screen and won’t load anything, only when using Brave.

I was testing both on my iPhone and can’t get either site to work well with Brave. But if I visit on Edge, Safari, or other browsers I can get some measures of success but have a lot of ads.

  • Brave 1.80.1 (121)
  • iOS 18.5
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • Tried with Shields on or off
  • Tested in private, no change.
  • Tried adding the brave-fix rules in content filters but had no improvement

As it mentions it doesn’t work due to an error that only comes up on brave.

Doesn’t freeze it just doesn’t want to load the site claiming it isn’t secure when it is.

How do I fix it, that’s the question I’m asking.

Working on our end here – works fine on Android as well. Going to ask @fanboynz about it.

Is it all sites or just this site?

It’s this particular site, works on all other browsers, and there is no bypass option

Using any custom DNS or VPN? Also what cert details I see on Android;

No just using the internet as is

Was working a day ago but it’s back to not working again, reload the page, load it from the browser nothing works again it’s an issue with brave I’m having cause it works elsewhere

@dashieswings

Possible cause - slow DNS response - example issue:

Lately, I have been monitoring network latency via the WiFiMan app:

When the numbers (values) are much higher (color changes to mild-orange), I switch VPN servers. PS: I manually add the VPN service’s DNS server IP addresses, in the iOS > Settings > Wi-Fi > network connection > Configure DNS: Manual . . .
