Same issue I spent 7 hours to fix it. Please fix it soon
Can anyone here encountering this issue please clarify for me whether or not this occurs:
- When using a standard browsing window (or if it only happens with Private browsing)
- What specific search engine(s) youâre using when you see this?
- If this occurs when a VPN is enabled (some of you have already stated no VPN but Iâd still like to confirm)
- If you have any other ad-blocking/privacy extensions running in the browser
- If you have any 3rd party anti-virus software running when you see this issue (outside of Windows Defender)
- Both
- I only use google
- No VPN
- Nothing only Brave Sheilds
- No third party antivirus
I updated my browser to latest version
Brave 1.88.138 (Official Build) (64-bit) still getting the captchas
Then i uninstalled it and reinstalled after 4-5 searches i got the same issue again.
- Standard Brave browser (donât use PB)
- Google (but I donât get a CAPTCHA for Google when using FireFox, Chrome, Edge)
- Occurs when VPN is either enabled/disabled (McAfee VPN)
- UBlockOrigin
- Malwarebytes, McAfee suite etc (in addition to Windows Defender)
This CAPCHA nonsense started about a fortnight ago. Iâve been running all the above for years without an issue so why the sudden change?
My only thought is perhaps it has something to do with changes made by Google in response to the new internet age restrictions (for children under 16) imposed by the Australian government late last year?
Example:
Googleâs Unified Login Eco-System is very picky about âYOUR IDâ (metadata-whatever, hardware, software - âyour papersâ), and Google compares every new presentation by âyouâ ⌠with, what Google stores (âtheir file on âyouââ).
My approach to the problem - is a testing phase, where I allow the necessary:
[*.]accounts.google.com[*.]google.comâ that alone, worked for me, but your mileage may vary[*.]gstatic.com[*.]mail.google.com[*.]recaptcha.net[*.]workspace.google.com[*.]www.google.com[*.]www.youtube.com
⌠domain names and hostnames, in Brave settings, using Brave Browser New Windows:
brave://settings/content/javascriptbrave://settings/cookiesbrave://settings/content/braveShields
⌠in attempting to reduce Googleâs nervousness. I try to find the minimum set of Brave Browser settings, that will complete a Unified Login Eco-System âGate House, Guard Shackâ PASS.
One way to monitor the Google Eco-System (I am not a regular Google user):
I havenât look through the entire thread, but does disabling fingerprinting in shields help? (may need to re-login). Just wondering if its a specific fingerprinting option causing issue.
