Detailed** description of the behavior:** I purchased the VPN on my PC and can use the VPN on my pc. Brave on my Android is synced to my PC, all passwords, bookmarks, etc. are synced. But I still can’t use VPN. I tried to “refresh credentials” but there is a bug in the process. When I click the link in the email it takes me right back to the screen to enter my email. To make sure this wasn’t a one off occurrence, I did it 3 consecutive times in a row with the same result. Waited a few days to try again but still the same problem.
Can you please try launching Brave on your Android device and simply logging into account.brave.com there? If you’re able to login this way (rather than using the Refresh credentials option) successfully, you should be able to tap Refresh Brave VPN on your account page and link your subscription to your Android device.
Note that Brave Sync does not sync Premium subscriptions at this time. Brave Sync is only for syncing browser data.
This is my problem. I get stuck in a never ending loop where it asks me for the email, I oblige, I open email & click link, but browser takes me right back the back to screen where it asks me to enter my email.
@MDudeck5 we’re seeing a few other users reporting the same thing – hard to tell exactly what’s going on at this time as everything looks fine on our end. While we check, can you please try clearing cache/cookies for account.brave.com (and potentially brave.com as well) on your mobile device, then try logging in again and tell me if this makes any difference?
That should have been taken care of when I deleted the app and re-installed it, right?
Yes – and you’re still unable to login to account.brave.com? Would you mind trying to login to the Premium account site using a different browser other than Brave? Note that you will not be able to link your subscription this way – we’re just trying to see if you can access the site at all.
This is something Android does when Android is low on available RAM.
It’s why me signing into Discord on mine WITH Microsoft Authenticator is a 5 attempt chore, Discord keeps going back to the beginning, because my phone is on Android 16 with a mere 4GB of RAM. (The same has happened with Brave, but I immediately knew it was just lack of RAM causing it, not when 700MB is only free and it’s using 3/4th of the page file).
Users with this issue may need to disclose how much RAM their phone has, and if their phone offers showing it, how much is available.
