'Verifying you are not a bot' - No CAPTCHA comes up?

Troubleshooting technical issues is much easier when both the user and support agent practice clear communication. For this reason, we have provided the template below for you to fill out with information about your issue. Please provide as much detail as possible so we can most efficiently resolve your problem.

**Description of the issue:
When the bot check comes up (mobile, pixel) it doesn’t load a Captcha for me to tick or figure out. It comes up with:
Verifying you are not a bot, quick check before you continue searching.

But nothing else? I can’t get passed this page or use Brave on my phone at all?**

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. When I search for anything

Expected result:

Brave Version( check About Brave):1.90.122

Mobile Device details: Google Pixel 8a

Additional Information: Only been a problem for a few days

Some guidance for desktop users. Most of which, may apply to Android users. (I do not have an Android device.)

In general, allow JavaScripts for trustworthy websites that you visit.

When you visit a website and have some trouble, try:

  1. Click the “tune” icon located immediately adjacent to the left end of the URL address field - example: tuneicon
  2. Check the pop-down menu.
  3. Click on Reset permissions and/or Delete data (whichever shows)
  4. Reload the webpage.
  5. Click the “tune” icon again.
  6. In the pop-down menu, verify that JavaScript is Enabled.

Clearing cache, cookies, history, etc.

  • Clear cache, cookies, history, and whatever else you choose - for Time range > All time, using Advanced tab at brave://settings/clearBrowserData
  • Exit / Quit everything
  • Restart the computer

IF only wanting to clear cookies and cache:

  • Enable Cookies and other site data
  • Enable Cached images and files
  • Click the Delete data button
  • Exit / Quit everything
  • Restart the computer

NOTE: The Basic tab was formerly among the now → Advanced, On exit group ← but the tab disappeared.

Tips regarding Brave Shields:

I have more success, with:

  • Brave Shields UP, but . . .
  • Either Allow All Cookies or Block 3rd Party Cookies, but NOT Blocking All Cookies
  • Allowing JavaScripts from specific sources, but NOT Allowing All JavaScripts
  • Trackers & Ads treatment: Aggressive (at first), and then incrementally relaxing that setting
  • Fingerprinting (aka footprinting) blocking: Strict (at first), and then incrementally relaxing that setting

I almost never use:

  • All of Brave Shields UP
  • All of Brave Shields DOWN
