"Confirm you're not a robot" ghost is back!

Description of the issue:

Use https://search.brave.com/, try to search, be confronted with “Confirm you’re not a robot” … every time.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Use https://search.brave.com/

  2. Enter subject for search

  3. Presented with the “Confirm you’re not a robot” page … up to 20 times for one search (I gave up at that point, & selected a bookmark to get here!).

Expected result:

No “Confirm you’re not a robot”, especially given I’m not, & have to do this multiple times an hour, & it’s worse with each Brave version update.

There were no errors like this ~8 months ago, so what is the reason?

This error has been getting worse, daily, for a few months, hence this.

Nothing has changed on my end, excepting the Brave version. I’ve used Proton for a long time, too.

I cleared ‘shields & privacy’ settings - no change;

I cleared all site data - it worked, once, & now it’s back again multiple times.

This issue is “The One”, that which drives me away from Brave, because it’s intolerable.

(No, Brave, I’ll not buy YOUR VPN offering to fix this.)

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Brave 1.83.120, Chromium 141.0.7390.122

Mobile Device details

Samsung Galaxy A556E - Android 16; Build/BP2A.250605.031.A3

Additional Information:

I’m:

Using Proton VPN (for years);

STD “Shields” settings;

Default browser is Brave, across many platforms, devices, & since inception.

We’re actually having some backend errors that are causing the captcha issue described here. We hope to have this resolved asap.

My two cents: Usually on iPhone, but sometimes on Mac . . .

Using Brave Search, if there are a lot of search results, sometimes clicking on the 3rd or later search results page, causes the Cloudflare CAPTCHA to kick in (esp. on the iPhone).

Sometimes on the iPhone, when I have multiple Brave Search tabs (each, searching for different criteria) . . . the 3rd (or later) Brave Search tab will encounter the Cloudflare CAPTCHA that kicks in at the moment when I tap the Search button.

All the above, when NOT using the URL address field for entering search criteria → meaning, I almost 100 % of the time, use the Brave Search Engine’s search field.

Oct. 29, Wednesday Update - using MacOS, Brave Browser, and Brave Search . . .

No satisfying the Cloudflare Cops:

I have the same issue always. Every third page, or so of search results I get the check box capcha check when using Brave search. Very annoying. Android, Samsung Galaxy Ultra 22, T-Mobile fully updated.
