Top Sites list ignores previously deleted sites

**I deleted some of my top sites, thinking that it would eventually repopulate the list based on my usage. But those particular sites are not showing back up no matter how many times I visit the site. On my other PC, those sites appear in Top Sites no problem. How do I reset Top Sites (without losing site data)? Using “view site information” on the search bar, deleting or resetting, does nothing to restore the site to Top Sites.

Brave Search + Answer with AI:

Brave Browser’s Top Sites feature on the New Tab Page automatically populates tiles based on your browsing history, displaying your most frequently visited websites by default. These tiles are not manually pinned in this mode; instead, the browser updates them dynamically as you visit different sites, adding new ones and dropping older ones based on visit frequency.

Users can switch from this automatic mode to a manual Favorites mode via the Customize menu, where they can add, remove, or edit specific site names and URLs. In Favorites mode, the tiles are static and curated by the user, though they can still be rearranged via drag-and-drop. The feature supports up to 6 tiles in compact view or 9 tiles when expanded, with additional sites paginating if more are added in Favorites mode.
