A while back, brave swarches started filling my top sites bar in android, and no matter how many times I remove them, they always come back. How can I permanently exclude them?

Sure, it’s a moto g7 with android 12, and I update apps daily so I’m always on the latest version of brave. This started happening maybe about a couple months ago.
