How to stop brave on Android automatically adding shortcuts to homepage

Brave on Android stopped working so just uninstalled and reinstalled but the new version I just dowloaded - 1.88.138 Chromium 146.0.7680.178. Android 12 had NO option to stop shortcuts being added to the home screen like the old version did. Please tell me how to stop adding shortcuts to the home screen as I dont want this

If you don’t want to see sites at all you can disable the top sites widget in Settings > New Tab Page > Show top sites
