Description of the issue:
I’m having a terrible experience with Brave Search on Windows. It keeps asks me for a CAPTCHA on every search whenever I use a VPN.
This happens in both Firefox and Brave. Private mode doesn’t seem to make a difference.
I use the same VPN provider on Android but do not run into CAPCHAs there.
Brave Version (check About Brave):
1.80.120 (irrelevant, happens with other browsers as well)
rCAPTCHA/reCAPTCHA - Google
hCAPTCHA - used by Cloudflare
hCAPTCHA related/Cloudflare Cops is/are involved with Brave Search.
I use VPN. The Cloudflare Cops got in the way, every time that I used Brave Search Engine Operators in search criteria - example: news site:ie ← trying to see news articles re Ireland.
Yeah, I’ve noticed the same with Brave Search while using a VPN on Windows. Constant CAPTCHAs make it almost unusable sometimes. Strange that it doesn’t happen on Android maybe their system flags desktop VPN traffic more aggressively?
It’s happening again today. I keep encountering Captchas on Brave Search in both Firefox and Brave when using a VPN. If it’s Cloudflare, then there’s probably not much that can be done.
However, it seems to be fine when using Tor mode (on both the .onion and clear web site).
