Tab Groups state not persisting - Reverting to previous state on restart

I am experiencing a specific issue with Tab Groups. While the groups themselves persist, the tabs inside them revert to their “initial URL” upon restarting the browser.

For example: If I create a Tab Group with a YouTube video and later navigate to different videos or pages within that same tab, upon closing and reopening Brave, the tab reverts to the very first video I was watching when the group was created, instead of the last one I visited.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a Tab Group with a specific URL (e.g., YouTube Video A).

  2. Navigate within that tab to a different URL (e.g., YouTube Video B).

  3. Close the browser.

  4. Relaunch Brave.

Actual Result: The tab inside the group shows Video A again. It fails to save the session progress/history within the group.

Expected Result: The tab should stay on Video B (the last visited URL).

Hmmm seems to be working as expected for me:

:backhand_index_pointing_up: YT tab part of a tab group, started playing Knicks vs Pelicans NBA game, switched to Rams Falcons NFL game, closed the browser, reopened to Rams Falcons game.

Are you seeing this occur consistency every time you stream YT content?
