Description of the issue:
I have found Brave spellcheck especially bad lately, on both Linux and Windows, haven’t checked on iOS or Android as yet - but assume it will be the same. Basically it’s unable to suggest logical replacements, and if a word is in the custom dictionary and you misspell it it is unable to identify that word as a possible suggested correction.
Examples:
soem = it won’t suggest some, it’ll instead suggest sum. You add some to the custom dictionary and it still suggests sum.
fo = it won’t suggest of, it will suggest few… ![]()
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Mistype some as soem or of as fo and right click, etc. Add the correct word to the custom dic then try again, still no success.
Or mistype any word where the mistype includes an incorrect oe combination (like in some/soem) e.g. doen instead of done will get you dun as the suggested replacement. hoem instead of home gets hum as the only suggestion.
Or a small word (2-3 characters) that has a mistyped o at front that should be in middle or last… Mistype in as im and right click - you won’t get in, you’ll get 3 other random longer words…
thats won’t result in that’s as the suggested correction, it results in thatch. In fact anything missing an apostrophe or with the apostrophe in the wrong place is often a failure to correctly suggest.
But type ot and right click and you do get to, so why does that work and not others?
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Expected result:
The correct, and most obvious/logical word, is suggested as replacement.
Reproduces how often:
Constantly
