SHA256 not matching anything on GitHub / Mac silicon version

This applies to the version downloaded on a new MacBook. The last two releases do not have matching SHA256.

SHA256 (Brave-Browser.dmg) = 068ab04e24ab5a07fe2a4dcacf4c325d7fe32e655325af5686822deb - I deleted the last 8 characters so someone couldn’t copy and paste.

Again, using similar tool :

shasum -a 256 Brave-Browser.dmg

068ab04e24ab5a07fe2a4dcacf4c325d7fe32e655325af5686822

This is the version downloaded yesterday. I’ve spent hours looking through GitHub. Since there is no version attached to the download I can only guess, but in “get info” once mounting the .dmg I see 151.1.93.134 . The date seems reasonable.

I tried downloading another copy today, and again, there is no matching SHA256 for what is probably 151.1.93.136

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/releases?q=151.1.93.134&expanded=true

Expected result: Looking for verification that I have downloaded a legitimate copy from Brave.com

Brave Version( check About Brave): Probably 151.1.93.134, but I can’t install it until after verification of SHASUM

Additional Information: Specifically the Apple Silicon version.

I downloaded: ‘Brave-Browser-x64.dmg’

From: ‘https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/releases/tag/v1.93.136

Specific link: ‘https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/releases/download/v1.93.136/Brave-Browser-x64.dmg

SHA for that .dmg file: sha256:11d8e3d08ee1d837f7d7972d7005096f23feadc178651f5f9128ced07a384808

Ran: shasum -a 256 /Downloads/Brave-Browser-x64.dmg

Result is correct: 11d8e3d08ee1d837f7d7972d7005096f23feadc178651f5f9128ced07a384808

The version for Apple Silicon Desktop has not had matching SHA256 for the last two releases, including current.

I gave up for now, it’s too risky, I have downloaded Brave Origin, and the SHA256 matches as it should. Installed and running in minutes.
