Set Proxy profile per tab our window

Hello!

I’m looking for a proxy chromium extension that supports setting a proxy profile per tab or at least per window.

It seems that Chromium doesn’t provide tab info for extensions, because of that none would be able to do that per tab. I installed and tested one, and it also didn’t work per window. I opened 2 windows and tried to set a profile on one, but it was applied to the other too.

The maximum I was able to do was use Proxy SwitchyOmega to set a profile per domain. That blocks me from using different proxies or disable proxy simultaneously on the same domain.

Anyone knows a better solution for that?

Hi,
So lets say you want a different proxy per “tab”, what you could do instead is start different browser instances with different profiles and put each proxy detail in the extension. I tested it on chrome and it works, didn’t test it on Brave but it should work.

Late to this thread but wanted to share something that actually solved this for me.

I had the same issue with SwitchyOmega, the per-domain approach breaks down the moment you need two different proxies on the same domain, or want to quickly toggle one tab off without affecting others.

I’ve been using IP Per Tab by PureVPN. It works at the tab level inside Chrome, each tab gets its own proxy assigned independently, so you can have Tab 1 routing through a US IP, Tab 2 through a UK IP, and Tab 3 on your regular connection, all at the same time. No bleed between tabs.

It also has domain rules, so if you want a specific site to always load through the same proxy automatically, you can set that once and forget it.

Not sure how they got around the Chromium tab API limitation you mentioned, but it works. I have tested it with multiple simultaneous sessions.
