Search Engine Webpage Only Displays ASK

I am trying to replace my current search engine and use Brave search engine and also set it as my homepage. I am very disappointed with the results when I use: search.brave.com

The second (bottom) picture is what I get and the top picture what I want for my homepage and search engine. I don’t wish to ASK anything, but want a search button to get results with links to webpages. I went to all ASK’s suggested fixes and nothing works. I just want a normal search engine without ASK.

I want the website to be set on ALL, not ASK.

Is there another search address to get what I want?

I use Windows 10 Pro and a desktop.

If you hit “Enter” on the keyboard, it does a regular web search, ignoring the ask button completely.

I have to hit it a bunch of times real fast. Once doesn’t do anything on my computer. That is no answer when all they have to do is fix the page.

It works on one strike Enter for me. I’ll let someone else assist.

Hey @Ahtel, this has already been brought up and essentially the feedback from Brave is that this is intended. I’m not sure if they’ll ever change things.

From my own observation, it looks like Google has done the same thing:

With Brave, the search glass icon is no longer on the right, but it will appear under the text as we type, where can can select one of the suggestions. But this is a bit hit or miss, as it sometimes suggests everything except what we type.

My perspective

It appears they decided to remove a redundancy. Hitting Enter while typing will search, we can use our web browser’s search bar to search, and you can potentially hit one of the options under. Due to this, they replaced the traditional search glass on the right just with the AI buttons.

And, as you indicated, this only occurs on the homepage of the search engines. Any other page will have it.

Thank you. I did search for the issue and nothing came up, but I figured I wasn’t the first to error my complaint. Other than not have the magnify glass, it is a doable search engine now that I know to hit the enter about three times fast.

Should just need to hit once.
