Search.brave.com breaks when passed through Burpsuite proxy

Description of the issue:
While using search.brave.com and Burpsuite proxy together the browser returns a page of unreadable text. Turning off the proxy and refreshing the page results in the search going through. Turning burpsuite back on and refreshing brings up the same page of unreadable lines of text.

Brave Version (check About Brave):
This happens in Brave Version 1.75.175-1.75.180

Operating System:
This happens in both Windows 10 and Kali Linux 6.11.2 (running in VM)

To be clear, the good first image is the result of:

  • [[ your computer + Brave Browser ]] <--> [[ Internet destination ]]

The bad second image (garbage characters) is the result of:

  • [[ your computer + Brave Browser ]] <--> [[ Burpsuite proxy ]] <--> [[ Internet destination ]]

Correct?
