notice the search bar is there and the reading of results is above and below it and when I scroll the bar stays there blocking my reading. Very difficult. How do I unlock it from that so that it stays at the top of the page like it used to and scrolls with the page not stays on the page.

Sorry to hear you are not liking it. The sticky behaviour is by design and can’t be unlocked. I’ll forward your feedback to the relevant folks.
@RobinLovesYeshua if you look, this same behavior seems to be on Google as well. Just seeming to be design people are looking at to make things “easier” for people as they want more.
But I do see that Brave’s design keeps everything else visible and it looks like it’s just floating on top. Whereas Google has it designed to look like a strip that goes across the page and is “fixed.”
Basically Google’s just makes it appear that you’re continuing to scroll and info is going off the page. But since Brave Search isn’t masking that with the more solid strip, it feels more invasive and as if it’s “blocking your reading.” Even though the behavior is the exact same.
It’s interesting how small changes in design can make such big differences in perception.
@kka as pointed out, the way this looks at least introduces the appearance of being more invasive. As considering, I would say either more solid like Google, or if wanting to stay different perhaps move it to the far right where we have a lot of empty space (not sure why half the page is always left empty by everyone)
Or move it up more closer to the top. The spacing as you can see below is what really makes it difficult
It’s address bar, some words from page, and then the floating search bar. The space boxed in on red with arrows is where it just looks strange, the parts of the page still visible yet blocked.
Well if I can’t remove it then I need to find another search engine. This is just too hard to read and it is very annoying to have it stay there. Thanks anyway. Get rid of it please. I like brave search but not this way.
Well not going to be using brave search anymore. It is just too hard to read with that bar in the way. Until it is fixed I will use another search engine. Frustrating as I love brave but not this way. Please fix this to be removable so if someone like me hates it they can stop this. Thank you
