Description of the issue: Scrolling page down while viewing full-screen videos
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3. Open any Rumble or (edit: didn’t ever work on Rumble) YouTube video, expand to full screen, try to scroll down with mouse scroll wheel.
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!): Stay’s displaying full screen video, won’t scroll down to description/comments/etc. like it used to
Expected result: scroll full screen video up so as to view description/comments/etc.
Reproduces how often: every single time
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave
page in the main menu): Windows 10, Brave 1.81.137 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information: this behavior just showed up this week, worked as expected last week. tried restarting Brave and PC, no love… **Acts the same on Mac, too.**strong text
To clarify, you’re viewing the video in Full screen using the full screen button on the Youtube /video player – is that correct? If so, as far as I know, this has never been possible at least as far as Youtube is concerned but I assume it’s the same for most players.
Do you perhaps mean when you’re viewing the browser itself in full screen mode?
Yes, just the video using the full screen button on the Youtube /video player; I press the ‘full screen’ icon (video fills screen), then use scroll wheel on mouse to scroll down, video moves up revealing the ‘like’ button, description box, comments, live chat (if it’s live), whatever is below the video when it’s not full screen…
To my knowledge, this has never been possible with full screen videos. Even logically I’m not sure it makes sense. If the video is full screen, then it takes the entirety of the screen. If you were to “scroll down”, then the video would have nowhere to scroll up “into”. If you only scroll half way, does the screen show “half” the video and “half” description/comments section?
Can you test this in a few other browsers and tell me if any of them allow this behavior?
it worked exactly as you describe, full-screen video scrolls up halfway to show info below video.
It doesn’t work in Opera or Edge, either. But it used to in Brave.
Oh well…
Hi there, I just joined the community specifically to write this comment. Yes, the previous asker is correct and I’m sad to see what I thought was a great feature become muted. Scrolling through the comments and description etc. while in fullscreen mode was awesome, and to answer to your question as to what you would scroll up to, you would scroll back up into the fullscreen video window again as from where you departed from. I cant remember exactly, but I think you did see the video take up the screen length as you scrolled away from it. It really was cool, please bring it back. Seems only recently it was removed. *praying hands*
