I’ll try to be as specific as possible. Brave has an option in the three dots that says: Add to Home screen. When we tap Add, it gives us the option to install YouTube directly on the phone’s home screen. That shortcut is the one that doesn’t show the on-screen option. My suggestion is that it would be great if they added it just like it appears in the address bar of the Brave app you sent me.
When you use that option, the shortcut on your home screen should have a Brave icon next to it – it’s strange that it is not showing for you. The YT icon you’ve circled in your screenshot is the shortcut that was created?
Further, the Add to homescreen option adds a shortcut to the page but should open in Brave – as such, you should still see the same options here, as if you launched Brave and went to youtube.com.
Yes, I know what you mean. That’s indeed the YouTube shortcut configured in Brave. The thing is, it’s a feature someone showed me recently, and here’s the fascinating part: When we create that shortcut, we make sure the desktop or computer site option is enabled. Then the shortcut is created with this nicer icon, and as you can see in the image I sent you, the top part of the screen above the search bar is completely red. It gives me the impression of being directly in the YouTube app. But of course, if the shortcut is created without enabling the desktop option, the icon does appear as you described. Is it clearer now? My native language isn’t English. My apologies.
