I’m frustrated that Ask Brave always forces web search, making responses feel distant and impersonal. There should be a user-controlled toggle to disable web access, just like on lumo.proton.me/guest, where you can choose when to go online.
Right now, even simple or personal queries trigger a web lookup, removing the chance for a friendly, conversational exchange. Brave promotes privacy and user choice – this should include how we interact with AI.
Please add a switch to use Ask Brave without automatic web search. Let users decide when they want web-grounded answers and when they prefer a more human-like, standalone AI response.
This small feature would make a big difference in usability and personalization.
