After watching a video using the private browsing feature, if you return to normal browsing, turn the screen sideways and open another app, then swipe up from the bottom of the screen to display the tabs of open apps, and look at the open Brave tab, the thumbnail of the video from private browsing will be displayed.

I have this problem too but without private tabs. I watched a video months ago, and when I’m in the menu to switch apps it displays the thumbnail over the entire app screen. I’ve tried clearing cache but it doesn’t help.
This is a behaviour of iOS in general, it will take screenshots of the app in the orientation that you background the app in for the purpose of displaying it in the OS app switcher. Typically we hide sensitive data when you background the app in private mode, but if you were watching a video fullscreen then what was actually visible when it was backgrounded was Apple’s video player so it was likely captured when backgrounded. To fix this, background the app again in orientation showing the thumbnail at some other point in the app and the OS should update the screenshot.
