Private Tab Video Frame Persists in App Switcher

When playing a video in a private tab in fullscreen mode (vertical orientation), the last frame of the video continues to appear in the app switcher preview even after closing the private tab. This compromises the expected privacy behavior of Private Mode.

Steps to Reproduce (what I did):

  1. Open Brave in Private Mode and play any video in fullscreen (portrait/vertical).

  2. Lock the phone while the video is still running.

  3. Unlock the phone again and close that private tab.

  4. Go to another app that also runs in portrait mode.

  5. Open the app switcher.

What happens: The preview of Brave in the app switcher still shows the last frame of that video.

What I expected: Once I close the private tab, no video frame should remain visible — Brave’s preview should be blank or hidden for privacy reasons.

  • Issue persists even after updating to the latest version.

  • Privacy implications are significant since private browsing data should not leak into app previews.
