I experienced a situation in which all the tabs in a Private Window suddenly became inaccessible to any mouse clicks. Although I was able to close the tabs individually by right-clicking them, and move the ones I didn’t want closed to a new Private Window, I couldn’t find a way to close the frozen Private Window. The red ‘Close’ button (top left of screen) appeared a whitish-gray, which I haven’t seen before, and clicking it had no effect. ‘Close Window’ in the File dropdown menu was grayed-out.
In the end I had to to restart Brave to get rid of that window. Would there have been another way to close the frozen Private Window?
(None of the other open windows were affected.)

I can’t really disagree (the status quo is what it is). However, given that according to all diagnostics the machine still runs perfectly well, the “highly outdated”-ness is entirely due to forced obsolescence. I am not sure that could not have been prevented, if there was a will for it not to happen. But maybe the overhead involved would be prohibitive.
However, I will likely have ‘new stuff’ soon. But for a merchant error that led to my being out of the ‘sale period’ when the error was reversed (the merchant wouldn’t accommodate despite the error being its own), I would already have new stuff.
