Description of the issue: Printing fails using Brave print Dialogue in Ubuntu 24.04LTS
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary):
1. Select a document in Brave (source not relevant – may be an attachment, web page or email)
2. Invoke Print dialogue
3 Use default printer as already selected in Destination (printer is visible via CUPS 2.4.7 and responds to options chosen in the Dialogue)
4. Click Print button and release
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
First print in a Brave session prints
Subsequent prints fail silently unless I click and HOLD the Print button for > 10 seconds (approx)
Expected result: Document prints on selected printer
Reproduces how often: Every time, but see above
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Ubuntu 24.04LTS
Version 1.88.134 Official build 64-bit
Chromium 146.0.7680.153
Last updated 23 March 2026
Problem predates latest versions
Reproducible on current live release (yes/no): Not sure what “current live release” means
Additional Information:
Printer is Brother MFC-L2700DW series configured in CUPS as Driverless 2.0.0
Save as PDF works correctly every time
Problem does not occur if I select Print Using System Dialogue (Control-Shift-P)
Problem does not occur if I deliberately re-select the printer using Destination drop down, then proceed to step 4 above
