PDF opened in Brave now opens when using Brave search

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open browser. Attempt to search using Brave search bar.

  2. A PDF that I opened in the browser appears in a new window.

  3. Cannot close the file. Can close the window but it reopens when I try to search.

Expected result:

I expected to be be able to delete this file & use the search

Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.88.136 (x86_64)

Additional Information: MAC OS 12.7.6

In a Brave Browser New Window, go to: brave://settings/clearBrowserData and select the Basic tab. Set Time range > All time, and …

  • Enable Browsing history
  • Enable Cookies and other site data
  • Enable Cached images and files
  • Click the Delete data button

Next, in the Brave Browser window, go to brave://settings/content/pdfDocuments and Enable Download PDFs

Restart Brave Browser. Test.

My internet went down, and when it came back the problem was resolved. Could be it needed to restart to update the changes you suggested. Thanks.
