The Address Bar at the bottom is great. But it is forced to replace the ‘Bottom Navigation Toolbar’.
The one thing I really want to keep from this disappearing bottom toolbar is the ‘New Tab’ button (appears when home button is disabled).
I really would like a way of opening a New Tab without having to reach to the top of the screen - this is exactly the reason the address bar at the bottom is desirable for many, and opening a New Tab must be the next most frequent task for a lot of users - yet they can’t then do this at the bottom of the screen.
Why does it have to be a choice of Address Bar at bottom OR New Tab at bottom? Can we find a way of having both without having to reach?
Suggestions of where could integrate a New Tab ‘ + ‘ button:
-
The search bar strip (either side of the ‘show tabs’ button). (This has had suggestions before e.g. https://community.brave.app/t/add-new-tab-button-like-google-chrome-have/602927, with the answer being the bottom toolbar - however this is now not a solution when the address bar is at the bottom):

As an example from Chrome (sorry):

-
The strip pinned at the bottom of the 3 dots menu (great feature):
-
Keep the + bar at the bottom of the tabs screen (or an option), even when the bottom toolbar is not visible, as in the circumstance of address bar at [edited:] top.
Apologies if I have simply missed an option, would love to hear. I am new to Brave, and initial impressions are of a fantastic project. I have tried to ensure that I’m not requesting simply because I’m used to a certain way!
