.local TLD no longer working on Mac desktop browser client

Description of the issue: Any attempts to load a .local TLD domain within the organization now fails. This was not happening with the previous version but only started to occur after the most recent update. “Secure DNS” option in Brave is disabled and System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network has Brave enable.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Attempt to connect to a .local domain within the organization.

  2. DNS is functional as all .local “dig” attempts in the terminal work. Also confirmed that the .local domain will load in Safari.

Expected result: Expect the page to load. Instead receive a “DNS address could not be found. DNS_PROBE_POSSIBLE”

Brave Version( check About Brave): Brave 1.80.125 (Official Build) (arm64)

Additional Information: Enabled Apple Privacy & Security → Local Network access for Brave. Also disabled Secure DNS within Brave. This was functional with the previous version of Brave but after the latest update, it is no longer functional.
