Latest Brave does not work with Ubuntu Wayland

The new brave does not work. I updated the version this morning using snap and it failed to work. I reverted to the previous version to get it to work

  1. The broken version: 1.82.166 (rev 541)
  2. OS: Ubuntu 22.04 on Wayland
  3. GPU: Intel HD 520
  4. The error logs you saw (Failed to connect to Wayland display)

fixed it by downgrading in snap by

This issue only in brave snap ver 1.82.166

i faced same issue in other desktop with Intel Graphics and Ubuntu LTS 24.04

thanks for sharing the solution

Thank you for reaching out to Brave Support. This is a known issue and we’re working to resolve. Some short-term workarounds can be found below.

https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/49160

If you’re running the snap version, we’ve noticed it does work if you launch via:

snap run brave --ozone-platform=x11

Kind regards,
