LastPass Extension issues

Good Evening Everyone,

I’m hoping I can get some help on dealing with the LP extension issue, that as far as I can tell has zero solutions from either LP themselves or Brave. The issue is pretty straight forward, I have the LP extension installed, it does not remain signed in and clicking the extension itself results in the little white box of uselessness.

So far the only thing that seems to occasionally work is going into the “Manage Extensions” and updating from there but again, it occasionally works and that’s not how any of this is supposed to function so that can be called a solution. I am really hoping there some additional options/ setting I may have over looked that the community can offer to get this to work, because at this point this browser and password mangers are becoming more problematic than its worth.

Any help would be appreciated

I have LP working right now on my end so I don’t think it’s a general/widespread issue. One thing you can check is going to Extensions --> Details --> Extension options and ensure that the extension isn’t set to log out when the browser is closed.

Additionally, if you go to lastpass.com and authenticate that way, then try to open the extension, does it recognize your credentials in the extension?

unfortunately, extension option only lead to a blank page each and every time I’ve tried it.

I reload multiple times and nothing, As for logging in through the main site, I do have to do that when I need passwords, however that does nothing for the extension on my end it remains greyed out.

And if you un/reinstall the extension you get the same results?

I did a reinstall yesterday after posting and it worked for that session. I just opened up Brave now (having woken up) and once again the little white box. I made sure to set the preferences to not allow log off and yet I was, I went back into the dev settings to update and try settings again and finally got them, however the extension settings like “remember my email” didn’t work and opening the extension after having finally logged in, has me on the doom loading wheel…

The Brave shields are down and I don’t see any site settings in the brave settings either that would dump everything, so I am just lost.

I’ll have to look into it , however I am stuck with a premium membership and last pass works across devices which is why I went with them in the first place.

@socratesbleu are you by chance logging into LP using your Google credentials?

More Side Note (continung on what @HeathM was saying):

For future reference Proton Pass works across devices as well and occassionally they offer a Lifetime subscription for their Password Manager (only the Password Manager though)

& with Proton Black Friday deals it would be a good time to switch, especially going all in on Proton with Proton Unlimited.

Apologies for the late reply to answer your question directly no, I distrust google so I try and limit that. That being said, as of now the extension has been working normally for the last couple of days. This was after a couple of uninstalls and changing and saving extension setting. Not sure if there was anything else, like changing the Brave Shield settings or any other browser setting, though I didn’t do anything there since first install of Brave. I guess that is the only solution I can offer is uninstall and reinstall multiple times until it sticks.

I take that back I am back to the little white box of uselessness… :scream: but this time the extension icon is red instead of grey which is why I thought it was working without issue

Since I didn’t share the link in full in my previous post, here it is again, note the favorite word in the link FREE and Proton is backed by many security experts (more than just @HeathM & I :winking_face_with_tongue:).

For more options and reviews though:

Yeah @User.1.000.000.000 @HeathM can we please stop trying to hawk Proton pass on this user? Telling a user that to fix their issue they should stop using what they’re using and use something else instead is not a solution.

This was an issue a long time ago but has been resolved for quite a while:

@socratesbleu what version of the browser are you using?

Yup, as I said, sorry folks… :victory_hand:

Hello again! To answer your question I am using the most up to date version of Brave and this is where I am at now: In order to get the extension to work, I now have to go into the manage extension options and turn off the extension and then turn it back on and it works, partially. The autofill options don’t seem to working but at least the access is somewhat easier. There has to be some setting conflict, and with the brave password manager off I can’t figure out what else it would be
