Lag/delay/slow when opening anything from an android phone / fold7

Hey, i don’t know when it started or if it was always like that, but there is always a 3-5 second delay when i try to open anything on my mobilephone, be it websites or videos i try to open. I never optimized anything or toggled on/off any adjustments, everything is at default setting. Other browsers dont have that issue, they open the moment i click on the websites.

Anyone knows whats going on?

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary):

  1. Open any link and it lags or takes 3-5 seconds to load.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

How am i supposed to take a screenshot of a lag?

Expected result:

It loads slow

Reproduces how often:

For months daily probably for 5+ hours

Brave Version(about:brave):

1.88.136

** Android/iOS Model (what device are you using?):**

Android samsung fold 7

Additional Information:

To be honest thisnwas totally uneccesary, because the only additional information was the version and i upgraded brave several times and always have that issue

Can you please fill out the support template with the relevant information?

I did but tbh my issue was as self-explanatory as possible. Websites take too long to load. I edited and added the template.

Do other browsers also have this same delay when loading web contents (ideally other Chromium based browsers – Chrome, Chromium, Edge, Opera, etc.) or is it just Brave?

If it is only Brave, would you be willing to download and test the Brave Beta app (can be found on the Play Store) on that same device and see if you’re getting the same delay when using the Beta? Note that it will install as a separate app/browser and will not overwrite your current Brave apps data.

Nope they work perfectly fine. I can download and see if that improves anything, but I would rather keep using the normal brave browser with my existing tabs etc.

We’re just testing to see if we can narrow down whether the issue is specific to the stable app that you have installed (or some data contained within it) or it is just with Brave in general.

I think i jynxed it … now it works perfectly fine. There is still a buffer time on both when i open yourube, but i think that may be the built-in ad blocker.

However, normally it just loads nothing for the first 3-5 seconds then the whole website loads.

And these are for both of them

Thanks for testing. I’ll leave this thread open in case the delay starts regularly occurring again so you can let us know and we can try troubleshooting the issue further.

Thanks for the help. Ok, thats probably a good idea.

Currently having the same problem on Android. 2-3 seconds latency spike at initial request to load a webpage. No issues on Firefox (Android) and Brave on Windows.

You know, I don’t know if it’s related, but I have seen a spike in Page took too long to respond lately (paraphrasing, don’t remember verbatim, though I’m certain that kind of was verbatim), only for it to a second later, just load the page on its own.

(Without getting into the complexity in how I diagnose my network, the phone never dropped the Wifi the whole time, and our fiber connection to the ISP never went down either, in fact the server was responding, hence the page actually loads after flashing the error.)

Again don’t know if it’s related, but it is something I’ve encountered on Android Brave (but not desktop).

I can confirm that I have these issues too since today. And yeah, its only affecting Brave Android.

Its extremely slow. Some websites take 7-10 seconds to load. Others even longer. Maybe a bug that has been brought in since the last update?

The same issue is back, started 15h ago or so. The beta browser has the same issue. Chrome browser loads instantly. Could the problem be something related to a server? If yes, can i change the server?

Updated my samsung phone and it works fine again … but its still weird, the update was long overdue, like 2-3 weeks and didnt have the issue during that time.
