Description of the issue:
When logging into Facebook using the Brave Browser, the logged-in account keeps getting logged out. This issue only occurs on the Brave Browser; Firefox and Chrome are not affected.

This issue has been ongoing for a long time. When will it be fixed?

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Logged in to Facebook
  2. Close Brave Browser
  3. Go back to www.facebook.com

Expected Result:
Facebook Account is logged in.

Actual Result:
Facebook Account is logged out

Brave Version (check About Brave):
Version 1.67.123 Chromium: 126.0.6478.126 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I have the same problem. I am using Windows 10. Even after marking ā€œTrust this deviceā€ upon re-login, I still need to do 2fa each time I close the browser.

Itā€™s been a long issue. Iā€™m wondering why Braveā€™s support team is not even responding to this thread to acknowledge the issue or offer some sort of troubleshooting methods (if any).

The solution I have found so far:

  • Step 1: Turn off Brave Shield on Facebook
  • Step 2: Login as usual
  • Step 3: Click site settings > Cookies and site data and do this. This will log you out of facebook.com

  • Step 4: Login again
  • Step 5: Close your Brave Browser completely and open it again. Visit facebook.com to see if youā€™re still logged in.
