No worries.
We have some things in the work that should alleviate the pain of transferring your browsing data across devices and hope to be able to share more on those soon.
We’re also working on implementing workspaces/containers in the Brave: Worskpaces/Containers feature feedback
which should help with the issues you have with the current profile system.
I think the biggest issue with the analogy is the fact that in your opinion, the thing we shouldn’t be shooting for (or are “too focused on”) is privacy and security.
I understand what you’re trying to say, but if all your personal data gets leaked and used for some sort of fraud then…who cares what you’re wearing on Earth? What good is the ability to see >4 bookmarks in the address bar when you’ve been hacked?
I think a better analogy is a house. The types of features you value – additional customizability and new features – are akin to things such as the color of the house, the trim/siding, lawn, what kind of doors and windows are installed, etc. These are all important aspects of your house and should factor into which one you buy.
Privacy/security is the roof of the house. It’s not flashy, you don’t really see it “in action” in any real way and when you’re inside/using your house you don’t see it at all – but it’s easily one of the most vital components of any house. If you don’t take care of it and your roof collapses, nothing else really matters does it?
Privacy/security should be paramount to everyone online and will always be our priority.
