Importing bookmarks doesnt work

Description of the issue:

After a clean install of Brave Nightly, Im unable to import bookmarks. Before uninstalling, I exported bookmarks and it worked correctly. Uninstalled Brave Nightly and reinstalled the same version, imported bookmarks but after selecting the bookmarks file nothing happens.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Export bookmarks

  2. Delete all bookmarks

  3. Import bookmarks (if bookmarks are imported correctly, try uninstalling/reinstalling brave to repro my issue)

  4. Notice how bookmarks are not imported

Expected result: bookmarks should import correctly

Brave Version( check About Brave): Brave - Nightly 1.89.13, Chromium 145.0.7632.45

Mobile Device details: S24 Ultra - Android 16 - One UI 8

To clarify, you’re saying that importing bookmarks only doesn’t work when they’re imported into the app if it’s just installed [from the Play store]? Meaning that they do import correctly if you try again at another time?

I exported bookmarks, uninstalled brave and reinstalled via playstore, tried to import bookmarks using the exported file, nothing happens when clicking on the exported bookmarks file.

Edit: i have no idea what happened but I tried one more time and this time bookmarks imported correctly.
