I don't want Brave to remember previous session when I start it up

I need Brave Browser to remember passwords for specific forums but not remember URLs for any other sites each time I start Brave anew. How can I configure this in settings? It starts up with where i left off last time, and I don’t like that. Thank you.

Please edit your Original Post (“OP”) above, in order to include:

  • Brave Browser version numbers
  • Operating System version numbers

In a Brave Browser New Window, go to brave://settings/shields and scroll down to Forget me when I close this siteEnable

Next, go to brave://settings/clearBrowserData and select the On exit tab.

There, Enable:

  • Browsing history
  • Download history
  • Cookies and other site data
  • Leo AI Chat history
  • Cached images and files
  • Autofill form data
  • Hosted app data

Click the Save button

Always use Brave Browser Private Windows.

Do not store any username and password combinations for sites that you want to be forgotten.

Disable everything about Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) that you encounter.

Research as much as you can, about any extension that you add, in order to verify that it somehow is not storing information about “where you have been” on the Internet.

At both AI websites: Alter.systems and Perplexity.ai, ask the following question:

“Where, on my Linux OS machine, might there be traces of websites that I have visited?”
