I can not watch youtube in resolutions higher than hd (1080p)

Description of the issue:
I go to youtube.com and start a video. It sets automatic resolution to low 480p. When I manually put it on any resolution higher than 1080p the video gets freezing, trying to load which takes many seconds (like when there is slow connection).

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Go to youtube.
  2. Play a video
  3. Put the resolution to 4k or higher

Expected result:
The video plays normally and it loads very quickly (I have a decent internet connection 260mgbit)

Additional Information:
The video plays normally and fine on Chrome.

I would try to clear cookies/cache for youtube, then re-login again. If you’re using a VPN, this may impact speeds also. @Huso
