I am at my wits end with Leo. How do I rip this thing out?

I can’t tell you how many times I have turned off all the Leo stuff. (Do you like it? Cool. Stop telling me I should.) Just this month, I have turned it off at least twice. Not just in the UI, I’ve gone through the flags and anything labeled AI I have flipped off. This is 5 minutes ago:

I’ve popped out the hamburger menu so that you can see that, as far as the UI concerned, Answer with AI is off, but I’m getting AI summaries anyway.

Don’t tell me this is a bug. I don’t believe you. This kind of nonsense keeps happening on Windows and Android, too. All of the AI pushers are playing the same game of trying to force you to use it to juice their usage numbers to keep the VC money flowing.

So, not that this threat will matter from one user you’ve never talked to before, but you’re going to tell me how to rip out the feature entirely or I’m moving to a new browser. I don’t want to do it. I’ve used this everyday for… 7 years? In general my experience with Brave has been lovely and I’ve customized it just to my liking. (I frankly hate the crypto bs, too, but you’ve thankfully made that easy enough to sidestep and I understand everyone has to eat. But this is just a step too far for me.) But if jumping too a new browser is what I’ve gotta do, so be it.

Launch Brave, and go to brave://settings/shields/filters. View the full list, then enable the Anti-AI Search Filters option:
