All the websites I have ever visited using brave is stored in quick search engines , I’m hating this idea/brave for this.
Where the hell is privacy in using Brave if URL will store permanently without letting us clear that (unless uninstall/clear data) and if we’ll ( uninstall/clear data) then we’ll loose all Settings we have done so far cause there is no way of import export Settings in Brave
Is there no way to clear URL history stored in Quick Search-Engines?
Brave’s “index other search engines” / site-search feature: when you search within a website that exposes an OpenSearch or similar search URL, Brave may automatically add that site as a searchable provider and then sometimes promote it into the “currently used search engines” list.
Manual or imported configuration: if at some point a custom search engine entry was added for freecoursesite.com (by you, by an imported profile, or by some configuration), Brave can set it as the default, so it appears as a “currently used search engine” even though it’s just a site-specific search shortcut.
Perplexity.ai > On Brave for Android, you can’t directly “edit” the built‑in list (add/remove custom engines) in current versions. You can only choose which of the existing ones are used and visible.
To get to the list of currently used search engines on Android:
Open Brave.
Tap the three‑dot menu (top right).
Tap Settings.
In the “General” section, tap Search engines.
Use the Standard and Private tabs to:
Set the default search engine for each.
Toggle Quick-search engines on/off for the engines you want to appear as “currently used”.
If you are looking for desktop‑style editing (changing the URL pattern or adding a fully custom engine), that capability is not available on Android Brave as of now.
