Please consider enhancing the built-in screenshot capability to be more like what’s built into Microsoft Edge. It would be great to be able to draw a selection box, resize it, and move it around the screen. I think if it had feature parity with the version in Microsoft Edge, that would suffice for the vast majority of Brave users.
You tagged both Windows and Mac OS, but I can say Windows actually has this built in, Snipping Tool.
It does exactly as you describe, draws boxes, resize them, and move them around. You can even bind it to the Print Screen button in Windows settings.
For Mac OS, your milage may vary but there are utilities similar to Snipping Tool if one isn’t built in.
(I personally don’t know why Edge added its own screenshot routine when Windows has the same features built in, it’s always felt redundant.)
The feature built into Edge (and Firefox) allows you to scroll the page and select items that are outside the currently visible window. The tools built into Windows and macOS (SHIFT+CMD+5) do not allow for this.
That feature does actually exist already in Brave.

It was introduced near 1.75 version of brave.
The feature that exists in Brave isn’t as robust as what is in Edge or Firefox. It would be nice to be able to draw a selection box with the mouse, but then be able to resize it and move it around before copying it to the clipboard or downloading the image.
The current Brave implementation allows you to draw the selection box, but once you let go of the mouse button, you are prompted to copy or download the selected area as an image.
Try it in Edge or Firefox, and you will see the difference.
