Dragging and Dropping Links as new tabs

I just noticed this when using Brave on a touchscreen laptop.
Right now dragging and dropping new links to the tab bar can’t open it as a new tab. You can only open it in existing tabs already

But this can be done in Google Chrome

Brave Behavior

Why it should be seriously considered

Thanks for considering

Absolutely see the difference. I think the main problem comes down to Brave’s implementation of vertical tabs design. I’m not 100% sure, but Brave is going to use Chrome’s implementation of vertical tabs in the future, am I right @Mattches ?

For head of browser support: I apologize for mentioning you so much. I’m happy to help, but I’m not quite as knowledgeable about Brave internals as I don’t work for Brave

Wait, try this:

Drag links into the corner of the vertical tabs, on the icon.image

They updated the icon, and behavior in the latest release (check for updates):

Fixed tab hover card position when using vertical tabs. (#54199)

(They might have updated the behavior too)…

See if that works for you? It works for me…

I’ll admit, no, it is not as convenient as Chrome’s implementation.
