Device Sync between iPhone and Laptop

Description of the issue: Whentrying to sync my iPhone and Laptop the instructions say:

Sync Chain QR CodeOn your mobile device, navigate to Brave Sync in the Settings panel and click the button “Scan Sync Code”. Use your camera to scan the QR Code below. Treat this code like a password. If someone gets ahold of it, they can read and modify your synced data.

but there is no button on the iphone options.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

As instructed

On laptop

  1. setting
  2. sync
  3. Start using sync
  4. Start a new sync chain
  5. Phone/Tablet
  6. Instructions as above to scan QR code

On iphone

  1. setting
  2. sync
    At this point is supposed to be the scan button but it doesn’t appear anywhere. If I choose ‘Add a new device under computer it lists the 25 text words for me to enter (I don’t want to enter text)
    If I select phone/tablet it shows a QR code but there is also no scan button on my laptop.

Reproduces how often: Always

v1.88.138 (Apr 1, 2026) on laptop

V1.88.(137) on iPhone

Type of devices currently running on the Sync chain in question:

Microsoft Surface Pro 3

iPhone 12 pro

that mean the iPhone is already have it’s own sync chain. reset and the option should be available.

ideally, you’ll want 1 main device where you set up the chain. and the 2nd, 3rd, nth devices will scan the code from 1.
