Delete duplicate tabs

Introduce a “Delete Duplicate Tabs” option that automatically detects and closes duplicate tabs (tabs with the same URL).

I often open links that interest me - YouTube videos, IMDb pages, articles, Reddit threads - but don’t always close them afterward. Over time, this builds up to dozens or even hundreds of tabs. I know Brave has an archive feature for inactive tabs, but from what I’ve seen, it works on tab groups rather than individual tabs.

The issue is that I often don’t remember which pages I’ve already opened, so I end up with multiple duplicates of the same content.

A “Delete Duplicate Tabs” option would automatically detect and close identical tabs, keeping only one instance open.

Example:

If a user has six open tabs, including three for the same YouTube video or news article, Brave would automatically close two of them and leave one (four tabs remaining).

This would be a simple, low-effort addition that greatly improves usability for users who frequently open duplicates without realizing it.

@HeathM they labeled as Brave Feature Requests > Android Requests so not sure how helpful desktop instructions would be. I’m not sure if this does exist on Android. But I can say that it does not seem to exist on iPhone at least. I’m guessing this might be a desktop capability only.
