Dashboard UI annoying to use

I just updated to brave 1.69.168 and for 2 months now, the older New Tab page, which used to show settings and other USEFUL shortcuts, and all of those shortcuts are hidden which leaves only the Customize option. What if I told you that I was actually USING those shortcuts and not having to go to the long menu or outright typing in the URL? Can this be restored?
