Customizing shortcuts in new tab

There used to be an option to customize shortcuts which lets you choose between adding them yourself or show most visited sites and it’s not there anymore. Is it gone or there are ways to fix it?

Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.81.136

@PPPPPPPP you aren’t using Brave’s dashboard as it’s made. It seems you made modifications. Not sure if it’s an app or what you’ve done?

In the settings I changed new tab page to shows ‘Homepage’ and show home button to ‘brave://new-tab-page/’. The problem is all my devices’s brave used to have the option I stated in the post. But now I installed brave on my new device and it’s not there anymore as well as on my old devices so I’m wondering if there’s a solution.

I see. I’m wanting to say I remember @Mattches saying a while ago that this was going to be removed.

But going to it, I see the button

And of course you chose the customize so it would hide the corner, but that page is associated with Google and has people signed into the Google accounts

Oh, doing a quick search through the site, I see what I’m remembering

The Github he linked back then was https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/10676

But I see the devs later responded about keeping it.

So yeah, I guess I should learn more on what the expected behavior is. And if they are keeping it, would like them to add it as a toggle within the browser rather than one of those “hidden” things people have to know about.

@Saoiray is correct – the brave://new-tab-page/ page will be removed in upcoming releases. If you’re unsatisfied with the default Brave NTP dashboard, you can try enabling the brave://flags/#brave-ntp-refresh-enabled flag in brave://flags as you may like the new design better than what is currently available.
