They got rid of them a while back. I forget which update, but it was announced.
Is there any way to get them back? Been missing them since they were deleted 
Nope. They completely removed it from Brave. That said, people have been asking for all sorts of widgets to be available for the browser and it was brought up again yesterday during Community Call. So it might be something to reappear in the future, but no idea when or if it will.
