Frustrating, and unfortunate - my experience:

Brave search can't be used due to a captcha that can't be solved

The Brave Search website, engages/employs the Cloudflare hCAPTCHA system and other routines in order to frustrate bots. I do not encounter a CAPTCHA at https://www.metal-archives.com. I did encounter a Cloudflare hCAPTCHA routine at https://rateyourmusic.com . . . that Brave Browser could NOT satisfy. And I do not know how to get around that. The Google reCAPTCHA and Cloudflare hCAPTCHA (and other routines) that pop up and spoil the proceedings, are frustrating. I do what I can, 1st with my preferred Internet browser: Brave Browser (“BB”). When that (I did what I could with BB) does not succeed, and I need to connect / sign-in, my 2nd choice is to use Firefox, and after that fails, my 3rd choice is to use Microsoft Edge.
