BraveSoftware Update running in the background when Brave is closed

Description of the issue:
I specified in the settings that I don’t want Brave running in the background when it’s closed, but as you can see it is running.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. open Brave
  2. close Brave
  3. open Task Manager

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

Expected result:
No Brave process running in the background when Brave is closed.
Reproduces how often:
Everytime I open Brave
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
W11 22H2 / v1.61.114 Chromium 120.0.6099.199
Additional Information:
setting “Service Brave Update (brave)” to manual fix the issue it seems (but might break automatic updates?).
